Mad Men, Season 6

26 Mar

I know we’re still more than a week and a half away from season six of the best show on television  but I couldn’t wait to share these amazing publicist shots from Mad Men that I just stumbled upon. I’m just sharing a few of my favorite characters (keep walking, Betty!)  but you can see all of the images on AMC and even more at IMDB. Aren’t you just giddy with anticipation, Don?

Some love to hate her but I just love her. She had me at Zou Bisou Bisou. (And the clothes!)

He makes my skin crawl but I still can’t get enough of Pete Campbell.

Sure, she’s a brat. What do you expect? She was trained by the very best!

The styling on this picture makes me crazy. Every detail, from the cut of the pants to the fit of the tops and jackets, is spot-on for each character.

Peggy gets the last laugh. (Shut up, Betty.)

Roger Sterling is always cool as a cucumber.

Despite her new job, these images are giving me hope that we’ll still be seeing a lot of Peggy.

Set your DVR for Sunday, April 7th at 9 pm for the 2 hour season premier of Mad Men on AMC. If you need a refresher of where we left off in season 5, watch this video.

The Beauty of Fall

24 Oct

I would never say that fall is my favorite season (nothing beats the long days of summer for me) but no one can argue that the change in foliage is a work of natural art. So this week, Lily and I took a trip to the park to play on the playground (of course) and enjoy the view. I thought I’d share some of the pictures that I took with you.

I loved walking down the road and looking up to see the trees making this rainbow canopy.

This tree looked like natural ombre–from red  to orange to yellow.

Lily brought her Build A Bear phone to snap a few pics too. She said, “I’m going to put this on my blog. My friends are going to LOVE this!” (I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried!)

Photo A Day: July recap

6 Aug

Back in the end of June, I told you about a great blogger in Australia who writes a blog called Fat Mum Slim. She “hosts” a Photo A Day challenge with prompts for each day. I’ve been wanting to do it forever but I finally decided to get off my butt and make it happen this month. After a rocky start (apparently, I didn’t know what day it was!) I managed to get each picture done. Some were a little late  but as Chantelle (aka Fat Mum Slim) says “Photo a day is all about having fun” so there’s no penalty for screwing up a day. Here’s 25 of the 31 pics I took in July:

I really just wanted to do it to see if I could. But after a month (and a few days in August) of taking pictures, I understood the real draw: it’s a  true exercise in creativity. It makes you think and take pictures you wouldn’t normally take. I mean, I snap plenty of pictures but I probably wouldn’t have taken this shot without the Day 22’s prompt Upside Down

…or this one for Day 30: Calm

…or this one for Day 28 Cup

…or, my favorite pic of the month: Day 20’s  Eyes.

So, I’ve already started August and I hope you will too. Sure, we’re already a few days in but there’s no reason not to start now.

And keep it simple – just take them on your phone and put them on Instagram. No upload cords required! Just make sure you tag them with #photoadayaug. (Oops! I’ve been doing #photoadayaugust. Oh well. Again – remember: There’s no penalty for screwing up!) To see what I’ve been snapping, follow me on Instagram @sueerneta. Here’s a peek at how my Photo A Day August started with the prompt Outside.

Happy snapping! And thanks for reading…

New post at

5 Jul

Hi all! I know I’ve been a little MIA this week but I’ve got A LOT of Erneta’s staying at my little house so it’s been a wee bit crazy, to say the least! I’m back in the office at my day job today and I just posted some behind the scenes shots from our shoot in Palm Springs on Check it out here.

You’ll get to see the secrets that make a shoot come together, like the old “add suds to the car so the model doesn’t get wet” trick shown here:

If you’d like to see the full story, you might be able to find the July issue on newsstands still but if not, click this link.

Hope you had a great 4th! See you next week!

Photo a Day

28 Jun

I’ve been reading this really fun blogger and I think you should too.  Her name is Chantelle and she writes a blog called Fat Mum Slim over in Australia. I totally welled up reading her post about moving out of a place that meant a lot to her. (I’ll wait here while you click over and read it. Go ahead, it’s short and completely worth your time….Are you back? See? It was totally worth it, right?) The reason it touched me so much was because I could really relate. I felt the same way about my NYC apartment. I moved in as a young, single girl with a roommate and moved out as a wife and new mother. I even met Pablo at a party in that apartment. To say I was very emotional when we left is an understatement!

Anyway, in addition to writing blog posts that make me cry, Chantelle does this cool challenge each month called Photo A Day. I keep telling myself I’m going to do it but I never get around to it. But in July, it’s going to happen! Won’t you join me?

Here’s the challenge. Take one picture each day based on her prompt below. There’s no wrong way to do it.  You can interpret her word/phrase any way you want.  It’s just meant to be fun so don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day.

So, it looks like with July 1st we start with a Self Portrait. I think that’ll be the hardest one for me! Oh, good.  I’ve got 31 days to find a better looking toothbrush. Here’s the list:

You can find Chantelle’s helpful hints here. And where to post your pics here. I think I’ll be sharing my pics on Instagram so follow me over there. My user name is sueerneta. Here are a few of my recent Instagram pics to inspire you.

Have fun! Happy snapping!
